About RDC Group

Built From Real Restoration Operating Experience

RDC Group was created to help restoration companies move from reactive management to disciplined operating systems. The restoration industry does not need more generic advice. It needs practical systems that define what happens, when it happens, who owns it, what data is required, and how leadership reviews performance.

About Chris Laney

Chris Laney is a restoration industry executive, operator, educator, and consultant with more than 27 years of experience helping restoration companies improve performance, strengthen operations, and build greater enterprise value.

Chris began his career in the restoration industry at 19 and has spent his entire professional career working inside the industry. His experience includes field operations, mitigation leadership, company ownership, executive management, training, consulting, and large-loss support.

Chris and his wife, Angi, owned Water Out, a mitigation-focused restoration company based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Under their leadership, Water Out became a respected restoration operation known for response, documentation, communication, and disciplined field execution. In 2023, Water Out was sold to MWR, a private equity-backed restoration platform.

Following the sale, Chris continued working with the organization in executive leadership, including serving as Chief Operating Officer. In that role, he supported multiple locations and operating teams through platform integration, operational restructuring, leadership development, process improvement, technology implementation, mitigation performance, reconstruction support, documentation standards, and financial visibility. Chris continued working with the platform through May 2026.

Chris has also been deeply involved with E3 Drying Academy and E3 Technologies. He has served as an owner and instructor, helping train restoration professionals in the science of drying, drying evaluation, field decision-making, and practical structural drying application. His work with E3 has included teaching, mentoring, consulting, and supporting complex commercial water losses across the country.

In addition to his operating experience, Chris has trained and consulted with restoration contractors across the country. His work has focused heavily on mitigation operations, commercial large loss, drying evaluation, documentation systems, job file defensibility, response standards, communication cadence, and building scalable restoration processes.

Chris founded RDC Group to help restoration companies move from owner-dependent operations to disciplined, repeatable operating systems. Through RDC Group, Chris helps owners and leadership teams strengthen operational discipline, improve field execution, create better documentation habits, increase billing readiness, improve job visibility, and build companies that can perform better, grow faster, and command greater enterprise value.

Why RDC Exists

Many restoration companies do not fail because they lack effort. They struggle because the business depends on urgency, memory, individual heroics, and undocumented decisions.

RDC Group helps companies replace that chaos with practical systems that leadership can manage and teams can execute.
